"During my first trip to Kyoto, I had the immense privilege of being initiated into the art of the samurai, both through the practice of katana and Zen. The bamboo mat, rolled and soaked in water, is used to reproduce the consistency of a human arm or leg. The clean and immediate cut is made possible by the combination of the sharpness of the blade, speed, and, above all, a perfectly mastered angle of attack. Upon returning to France, this experience inspired me to create the KATANA lamps."
